This bill, the Gold Star Family Education Parity Act, aims to ensure that families of fallen service members receive the same educational benefits as other veterans. It terminates the existing educational assistance program under Chapter 35 of Title 38 of the United States Code, effective August 1, 2029. Following the program's termination, eligible Gold Star family members would be able to apply for educational assistance under Chapter 33, which is available to all veterans, with some adjustments to eligibility rules.
