Bill overview
The Increasing Access to Lung Cancer Screening Act aims to make lung cancer screenings more accessible and affordable for more people. It requires Medicaid plans to cover annual screenings without prior authorization for those recommended by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, expands Medicaid coverage for tobacco cessation counseling and medication to all individuals, and removes prior authorization requirements for these services from Medicare and private health insurance. The bill also includes provisions for public education and a report on lung cancer demographics to identify underserved populations and improve screening efforts.
