Bill overview
The Stop Censoring Military Families Act aims to restore access to learning materials at schools run by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA). It requires the Secretary of Defense to reinstate previously available curricula, books, and other educational resources, and establishes procedures to limit future restrictions on these materials. The bill also includes provisions to ensure school advisory committees have a voice in decisions about curriculum and learning materials, and seeks to nullify certain executive orders related to education policy within the Department of Defense. Finally, it directs a study to explore the feasibility of creating an independent body to manage DODEA curricula.
