Bill overview
The Flight Refund Fairness Act aims to improve the process for passengers to receive refunds when flights are cancelled, significantly delayed, or substantially changed. Currently, there’s a lag time between when airlines transfer funds to ticket agents and when passengers receive refunds. This bill would require ticket agents to receive funds from airlines within 7 days of receiving them, and then provide refunds to passengers within the same timeframe. The goal is to ensure passengers receive refunds more quickly and efficiently.
