Bill overview
This bill allows certain public libraries to become official passport acceptance facilities. Libraries meeting specific requirements, as defined by the Secretary of State, can collect and retain the fee typically charged for processing passport applications. The bill also retroactively authorizes libraries that previously served as acceptance facilities to continue doing so. Finally, it updates the Passport Act to reflect this expanded role for libraries.
