Bill overview
This bill extends the time period for investigating and prosecuting fraud related to two COVID-19 relief programs: the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant and the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. Currently, there were limited timeframes for pursuing legal action against fraudulent activities. This legislation changes those timeframes, allowing for investigations and lawsuits to be filed up to 10 years after the alleged fraudulent act occurred. The goal is to provide greater resources for identifying and addressing potential misuse of funds from these programs.
