Bill overview
The Trust Through Transparency Act of 2025 requires all immigration enforcement officers to wear and operate body cameras during public immigration enforcement activities. The footage must be retained for a minimum of six months, with extended retention periods possible for investigations or training. The Department of Homeland Security will be responsible for ensuring compliance and will submit annual reports detailing enforcement activity and disciplinary actions. An independent advisory panel will also be established to provide oversight and recommendations regarding body camera policies.
