Bill overview
The Weatherization Enhancement and Readiness Act of 2025 reauthorizes the Weatherization Assistance Program, which provides grants to low-income households for energy efficiency improvements. This bill increases the maximum amount of funding available per home from $6,500 to $12,000. It also establishes a new ‘weatherization readiness’ program to help low-income homeowners address structural and safety issues before receiving full weatherization upgrades, and directs the Department of Energy to include impact reports in its annual congressional updates.
