Bill overview
The FAIR Vets Act aims to increase opportunities for service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses to compete for federal contracts. It adjusts the sole-source thresholds, which are used when the government needs to quickly purchase goods or services from a single vendor, to favor these businesses. Specifically, the bill raises the dollar thresholds for sole-source contracts, allowing more veteran-owned small businesses to be considered. The changes will take effect 180 days after the bill’s enactment.
