Bill overview
The Restoring America’s Leadership in Innovation Act of 2025 aims to revise U.S. patent law to restore what its supporters believe is the original intent of the patent system. It seeks to revert to a first-to-invent patent system, abolish certain administrative patent challenge proceedings, relax standards for patent eligibility, and limit the scope of prior art. The bill also seeks to fully fund the USPTO and restore patents as private property rights, ending automatic publication of patent applications.
