Bill overview
This bill creates a grant program to help National Laboratories and colleges and universities develop secure computer systems that can simulate cyberattacks on the nation’s power grid. These testbeds will be used to train artificial intelligence (AI) models to better defend against these attacks. The program will run for five years, from 2026 to 2030, and requires the Department of Homeland Security to report regularly on the evolving threat landscape and the progress of AI mitigation strategies.
