Bill overview
The LET’S Protect Workers Act aims to strengthen worker protections and deter violations of labor laws. It increases civil penalties for child labor violations and wage and hour infractions, particularly for repeated or willful offenses. The bill also boosts penalties for workplace safety violations under the Occupational Safety and Health Act and enhances protections for farmworkers and mine workers, including increased penalties for violations related to black lung benefits. Finally, it strengthens enforcement of laws related to mental health parity in employee health plans and improves workplace democracy through penalties for interference with labor boards.
