Bill overview
The Worker Enfranchisement Act aims to strengthen employee rights related to union representation. It changes the National Labor Relations Act to require secret ballot elections for determining whether a company’s majority of employees want a union to be their exclusive bargaining representative. Specifically, it mandates that a union must secure a majority vote in a secret ballot election to become the exclusive representative, and requires at least two-thirds of eligible employees to vote. The changes will take effect six months after the bill becomes law.
