Bill overview
The TRUST Act of 2025 aims to streamline the regulatory process for smaller, healthy banks. It proposes to increase the asset threshold for institutions eligible for less frequent examinations by federal banking regulators. Currently, banks with less than $3 billion in assets received more frequent reviews. This bill would raise that limit to less than $6 billion, allowing these institutions to be examined less often while still maintaining regulatory oversight.
