Bill overview
The Electric Supply Chain Act directs the Department of Energy (DOE) to regularly assess the supply chain that supports electricity generation and transmission. This assessment will examine trends, vulnerabilities, and barriers to domestic production and processing of critical materials. The DOE must also identify emerging issues and provide recommendations to strengthen and expand the supply chain, considering national security and energy security concerns. The initial report is due within one year of the bill’s enactment.
