Bill overview
This bill aims to establish an emergency exit route from the Wintergreen community in Virginia by granting the Department of the Interior the authority to issue a right-of-way on National Park Service land along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Before this right-of-way can be granted, the Secretary of the Interior must demonstrate that alternative exit routes have been explored and evaluated, including assessing the feasibility of converting existing trails. The bill also requires an analysis of potential fire ecology impacts and completion of all necessary environmental reviews.
