Bill overview
This bill, the Wabeno Economic Development Act, allows the Forest Service to transfer approximately 14 acres of federal land, including mineral rights, in Wisconsin’s Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest to Tony’s Wabeno Redi-Mix, LLC. The land’s market value will be determined through an appraisal, and the buyer must pay that amount plus associated costs. Additionally, the Department of the Interior is required to conduct a review of the permitting processes for developing stone, sand, and gravel on federal lands to identify and address inefficiencies.
