Bill overview
This bill aims to improve the well-being of members of the Armed Forces by establishing a system of wellness checks. When a service member sustains a significant injury or illness or is on sick call, their unit is required to conduct a wellness check to ensure their health and welfare. If the service member doesn't respond to initial contact attempts, procedures are put in place to determine their status, including reporting them as missing or absent. The bill also mandates training for military personnel and civilian employees on accountability for health and welfare.
