Bill overview
The Unclaimed Retirement Rescue Plan aims to help people recover retirement money they may have forgotten about. This bill directs the Secretary of Labor to create a regulation allowing pension plan administrators to voluntarily transfer unclaimed retirement distributions to state unclaimed property programs. Before transferring, plans must attempt to contact the recipient and provide notice, and the Secretary will establish a database to track these transfers and help reunite retirees with their funds.
