Bill overview
This bill directs the Department of the Interior to conduct a study to explore the possibility of a system that selectively withdraws water from Glen Canyon Dam. The goal of this study is to balance hydropower generation with the need to prevent the spread of invasive species, aligning with existing management plans for the Colorado River. If the study finds the system feasible, the Department can move forward with implementing it, subject to approval from the Department of Energy and power contractors. The study must be completed within 18 months and funded through appropriated funds.
