Bill overview
This bill, the Money Where Our Mouths Are Act, aims to ensure that Members of Congress don't receive their full pay during government shutdowns. It establishes a system where Congresspeople’s pay is reduced by one day’s worth of pay for each day a government shutdown lasts during a pay period. The Secretary of the Treasury will assist in implementing this measure, and it applies to all Congresspeople serving in both the House and Senate, beginning with the One Hundred Twentieth Congress.
