Bill overview
This bill establishes an interagency task force between the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to improve coordination and information sharing regarding patents for human drugs and biological products. The task force will facilitate communication, share relevant data, and establish processes for the USPTO to request information from the FDA to assist patent examiners. It also requires the FDA to provide this information to the USPTO and for the USPTO to assist the FDA in its patent listing duties.
