Bill overview
This bill directs the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to study how effectively the federal government is helping military personnel and their families vote absentee while stationed overseas. The GAO will analyze ballot transmission methods, the role of Voting Assistance Officers, and the availability of voter registration information. The study will also assess what steps military departments can take to improve access to voter registration and assistance, and a report on these findings will be submitted to Congress by September 30, 2027.
