Bill overview
The Fight Illicit Pill Presses Act amends the Controlled Substances Act to improve tracking of tableting and encapsulating machines, which are often used in the illicit production of drugs. It defines ‘regulated person’ to include those who manufacture, distribute, or trade these machines and their parts, and requires these machines to be identified with unique serial numbers. The bill also mandates record-keeping and reporting of transactions involving these machines to the Attorney General, and prohibits actions that would remove or alter serial numbers.
