Bill overview
The Social Determinants for Moms Act aims to reduce maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity in the United States by establishing a task force to develop strategies and coordinate efforts between federal agencies and other stakeholders. It also provides funding for community-based organizations and Tribal organizations to address social determinants of maternal health, such as housing, food security, and environmental factors. The task force will report regularly on its progress and recommendations.
