Bill overview
The Telework Reform Act of 2025 aims to modernize and expand telework policies within the federal government. It clarifies definitions related to telework and remote work, establishes requirements for agencies to review and adjust telework agreements annually, and allows agencies to noncompetitively hire qualified veterans, military spouses, and spouses of law enforcement officers for remote positions. The bill also mandates specific training for managers and employees on telework policies and requires the Office of Management and Budget to issue security guidelines and the GAO to conduct a study on constituent services processing times. Finally, it establishes a pilot program for hiring spouses of law enforcement officers.
