Bill overview
This bill, the PRINTS Act, aims to combat child trafficking by requiring U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to fingerprint noncitizen minors entering the country if CBP suspects they are victims of trafficking. It also establishes criminal penalties for adults who use unrelated minors to gain entry into the United States and mandates the sharing of fingerprint data with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for unaccompanied children. The bill requires CBP to report annually on the number of fingerprinted minors and monthly on apprehensions of individuals falsely claiming familial relationships.
