Bill overview
The After School Act aims to provide grants to local schools and nonprofit organizations to establish or expand after-school programs in counties with high juvenile crime rates. These programs will be available for students in grades 6 through 12 and must include educational activities, leadership opportunities, and a safe environment. The Attorney General will award funds based on the number of eligible students served, and grantees are required to submit annual reports detailing program outcomes.
