Bill overview
The CAMPUS Act aims to limit the influence of Chinese universities on U.S. institutions and research by prohibiting federal funding to universities that support the People’s Liberation Army. It requires the Director of National Intelligence to identify Chinese universities involved in military-civil fusion and report this information to Congress. The bill also restricts the use of classified information at facilities linked to these universities, denies visas to students and employees of identified institutions, and promotes partnerships with Taiwan to expand Mandarin language and cultural programming.
