Bill overview
The Protecting Kids from Gun Marketing Act directs the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to create rules prohibiting the marketing of firearms to minors. Specifically, it prohibits using cartoon characters, offering branded merchandise, or designing firearms with features appealing to children. The FTC can enforce these rules, and state attorneys general can also take action if they believe residents are harmed by violations. The bill also requires the FTC to report on its enforcement plan and provide consumer education.
