The Foreign Registration Obligations for Nonprofit Transparency Act (FRONT Act) amends the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) to require certain tax-exempt organizations that receive funding from foreign principals of countries designated as ‘foreign countries of concern’ – including China, Russia, Iran, and others – to register as agents of a foreign principal. This expands the scope of FARA to include these nonprofits, increasing transparency regarding foreign influence on domestic organizations.
