Bill overview
This bill aims to recognize and provide a similar status to combat veterans who operate remotely piloted aircraft (RPAs) in combat situations. Currently, RPAs and their crews do not receive the same combat status recognition as traditional military personnel. The bill directs the Secretary of Defense to create an ‘equivalent merit’ status identifier for RPA crews who participate in combat operations, ensuring they receive appropriate acknowledgement for their service.
