Bill overview
This bill, the Regulation Decimation Act, requires federal agencies to eliminate ten existing regulations before they can issue a new one. Agencies must demonstrate that the cost of the new rule is no greater than the cost of the regulations they are replacing. The bill also mandates agencies to review their existing rules for unnecessary burdens and submit a report to Congress detailing their efforts to reduce regulations. Finally, the President will report to Congress on the overall reduction of regulations over a five-year period.
