Bill overview
This bill directs the Federal Protective Service (FPS) to create guidelines for how federal buildings should communicate about potential threats, particularly those involving law enforcement responses. The FPS will work with the Department of Homeland Security to develop protocols for informing building tenants about violent threats, suspicious devices, or potential terrorism. Designated officials within each building’s security committee will be responsible for implementing these guidelines, and the FPS will conduct testing and submit a report to Congress on the implemented best practices.
