Bill overview
The Independent Broker Relief and Oversight of Knowingly Egregious and Repetitive Sales Tactics In Medicare Enrollment Act of 2025 aims to reform how independent agents and third-party marketing organizations (TPMOs) operate within the Medicare program. The bill directs the Department of Health and Human Services to update the definition of TPMOs, specifically addressing call centers and lead generation practices, and to establish a standardized registration process for independent agents and brokers. It also proposes a reward system for reporting fraudulent call centers and removes a 48-hour waiting period for agents to meet with Medicare beneficiaries. Finally, the Inspector General will review and report on predatory call center practices.
