Bill overview
The For Sale Act of 2025 directs the General Services Administration (GSA) to sell several underutilized Federal buildings located in Washington, D.C. Federal agencies currently occupying these buildings must relocate within 18 months of the bill’s enactment. Proceeds from the sales will be used to fund the implementation of the act, with any remaining funds going towards reducing the national deficit. The sale of these buildings is subject to restrictions preventing foreign ownership and exempts the process from certain environmental and historic preservation regulations.
