Bill overview
The COOL Online Act requires online sellers to clearly display the country of origin and the location of their business when selling imported products. This applies to most new products, but excludes certain items like agricultural commodities, food and drugs subject to specific regulations, used goods, and small sellers. The Federal Trade Commission will be responsible for enforcing these rules, and a memorandum of understanding will be established between the FTC, Customs and Border Protection, and the Department of Agriculture to ensure consistent implementation.
