Bill overview
This bill creates a national program within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to streamline the scheduling of appointments for veterans receiving care through the Veterans Community Care Program. The program, called the External Provider Scheduling Program, will use technology to allow VA schedulers to see real-time schedules of participating healthcare providers, ultimately reducing wait times for veterans to receive appointments. The VA must ensure this program is available at all VA medical centers by September 30, 2025.
