The Stuck On Hold Act requires the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to improve how they handle customer calls. Specifically, the VA must implement automated systems that tell callers how long they’ll wait and offer to call them back if the wait exceeds 10 minutes. The VA is also directed to provide guidance aimed at reducing the average wait time for callers to no more than 10 minutes. This legislation is intended to address long wait times experienced by veterans seeking assistance from the VA.
