Bill overview
The Retirement Freedom Act would give seniors more flexibility in their Medicare choices. It allows individuals to voluntarily opt out of Medicare’s hospital coverage without also having to opt out of Social Security benefits. Importantly, it also allows them to later change their minds and re-enroll in Medicare hospital coverage without any penalties or repayment requirements for previously received benefits.
