Bill overview
The Strong Communities Act of 2025 modifies the COPS Strong Communities Program to allow law enforcement agencies to use grant funds for recruits to attend law enforcement training programs at eligible institutions. To be eligible, recruits must agree to serve in their local communities for at least four years after completing their training, and may be required to live within a certain distance of their previous residence. The bill also includes provisions for transparency and reporting on grant recipients and training participation.
