Bill overview
The Trade Review Act of 2025 requires the President to notify Congress within 48 hours of imposing or increasing tariffs on imported goods, including a justification for the duty and an assessment of its potential impact on businesses and consumers. Any duty imposed will only remain in effect for 60 days unless Congress approves it through a joint resolution. If Congress disapproves, the duty will automatically be removed. This legislation aims to provide Congress with more oversight over presidential trade actions.
