Bill overview
The Service Enlistment and Recruitment of Valuable Engagement Act (SERVE Act) aims to improve military recruitment by increasing access to student information and promoting awareness of military service benefits. It seeks to enhance the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program by allowing students without a JROTC unit to utilize others in their district, and establishes a pilot program to recognize high schools with high military enlistment rates. The bill also prioritizes applicants from these high-performing schools for military academy admissions and designates the first week of April as National Week of Military Recruitment.
