Bill overview
The Streamlining Transaction Reporting and Ensuring Anti-Money Laundering Improvements for a New Era Act (STREAMLINE Act) proposes to update thresholds for currency transaction reports and suspicious activity reports. Specifically, it increases the reporting threshold for currency transactions from $10,000 to $30,000 and adjusts these thresholds for inflation every five years. It also raises thresholds for suspicious activity reports and directs the Treasury Department to review and update reporting forms and requirements to improve efficiency in identifying illicit finance activity.
