Bill overview
This bill settles water rights claims for the Pueblos of Acoma and Laguna, and the Pueblos of Jemez and Zia in New Mexico. It establishes and funds trust funds to support these settlements, specifically the Pueblo of Acoma, Laguna, Jemez, and Zia Settlement Trust Funds, as well as the Acomita Reservoir Works Trust Fund. The bill ratifies existing agreements between the Pueblos, the United States, and other parties, and provides for the implementation and enforcement of these agreements. It aims to resolve long-standing water rights disputes and ensure sustainable water management for the Pueblos.
