Bill overview
This bill, the Fire Suppression and Response Funding Assurance Act, aims to increase the amount of federal funding available for wildfire suppression and disaster response. It increases the federal share of costs for assistance to at least 75% in situations covered by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act. The bill also directs the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to develop criteria for when the federal government can increase its cost-sharing contribution and to update grant policies to allow for reimbursement of pre-deployment resources used in disaster response.
