Bill overview
This bill, the Fortifying Refrigeration Infrastructure and Developing Global Exports Act of 2025 (FRIDGE Act), aims to improve infrastructure in foreign markets to protect U.S. agricultural exports. It expands the Foreign Agricultural Service’s (FAS) program to provide technical assistance, such as training and needs assessments, to countries with inadequate cold chain systems and port improvements. The goal is to reduce food loss and waste, and ultimately, expand opportunities for U.S. agricultural commodities to be exported globally. The bill authorizes $1 million annually from 2026-2030 to fund these efforts.
