Bill overview
This bill directs the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to study the possibility of opening full-service VA hospitals in Alaska, Hawaii, and New Hampshire. If a full-service hospital is established in any of these states, the VA must continue providing care through its existing Veterans Community Care Program in those states. The bill also includes a provision to ensure continued access to care for veterans in states where a new VA hospital is built. This aims to address potential gaps in VA healthcare services for veterans in these geographically challenging locations.
