Bill overview
The AFIDA Improvements Act of 2025 aims to strengthen the Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act (AFIDA) by expanding reporting requirements. Specifically, it requires reporting to be triggered when more than one foreign person holds at least 1% ownership in agricultural land. The bill also enhances enforcement capabilities by giving the Farm Production and Conservation Business Center (FPAC–BC) authority to validate data and identify potential compliance issues, and establishes a process for sharing information with the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
