Bill overview
This bill establishes an Intergovernmental Critical Minerals Task Force to address the United States’ reliance on China and other countries for critical minerals. The task force will assess national security risks, make recommendations to the President regarding critical mineral supply chains, and work with federal, tribal, state, and local governments to bolster domestic production and reduce dependence on potentially adversarial nations. It also directs the Government Accountability Office to study the regulatory landscape for improving domestic critical mineral supply chains.
